Tattooing is more common today than it?s ever been before. Now, granted, we know that tattoos are either raised keloids (which is beyond the scope of this article), or decorative markings applied to the skin, like signs, symbols, and even letters, the latter being applied by injecting color into punctures made in the outer layer of the skin. (Tattoo guns are used to this effect in the latter, and are generally the best instrument to use, as they're sharp enough to easily puncture the skin and can move extremely fast).

The market currently has several types of tattoo guns available, many of which employ a very sharp needle. There are also guns out there that use more than just the needle, although they aren?t ideal for strict lines or designing, as some tattoos styles require. Single needle tattoo guns are generally considered to be best for most tattoo applications, though they require the needles need to be traded out for a fresh one out after each tattoo. Tattoo needles, in particular, can prove to be very hazardous if not disposed of immediately, as this can lead to a serious infection if one were to use them repeatedly, without being properly disposed of or disinfected.
